Picture taken 8-12-11 Rebel Yell robot

This view is looking at the front of it as it was being tested for it's fine cutting action. The reel has been removed showing the combs and cutter mechanism. The electronics are mostly removed. At least it is a good view of the crank that slides the cutting bar back and forth. The bearings on both ends of the crankshaft are salvaged from old Hard disk drives, the read head used to piviot on them. The motor, geartrain, battery case, are from a Tamya motorized track kit. It does cut, but it turns out that wooden blades don't hold up too well.
